Synopsis

In the market square of a Malian village, Baillo, a young “Garibou”, begs every day on behalf of a Moualim. At night, the Moualim reigns terror on the pupils of his Koranic school.

To escape this tyranny, Baillo takes refuge in his imagination. But when his brother Sékou, aged just 6, is in turn placed with the Moualim, nothing can distract him from the unbearable reality of their condition…
