Synopsis

In 1837, a convoy made up of Boers, austere descendants of French Huguenots, and their slaves left the Cape Colony to flee the English invader. They embark on a “Grand Trek” through the Zulu territories to join the camp led by their compatriot Piet Retief. Among these exiles, Catherine and her two teenage children, Marthe and Joseph, will go through multiple ordeals. Antoine Reinartz – “Anatomy of a Fall” – and Anna Mouglalis play the two main roles in this series filmed in the Senegalese steppe.
